Today is National Peanut Butter Lovers Day, and it’s a great reminder of how important peanut butter is at our pantry—it’s always one of our most requested items because it’s such a reliable source of protein. In honor of this special day, we’re kindly asking for donations of peanut butter (and if you’d like to toss in some jelly, that would be wonderful too). If your schedule is packed and you can’t make it to the store, no worries—we’re happy to shop on your behalf. Thank you for considering helping our neighbors in need; every little bit truly makes a difference.

An older woman on Social Security who is raising her 6 grandchildren. A young couple drowning in medical bills for their toddler whose critical care requires out-of-state travel.  A daughter who takes in her aging father and must absorb the cost of his caregiver. A veteran and his wife whose household doubles in size when they welcome family members seeking refuge from conflict in their home country. These are just a few of the people who have come to us for help – some briefly until their crisis has passed; others who come regularly because of ongoing need. We can’t solve their problems, but we give them good food to stretch their dollars, listening ears to hear their stories, compassion for the challenges they face, and respect for who they are.
